Welcome to my second mini mobile game review! Today's mini review is going to be on Pocket Frogs, a cozy frog farming collection game!

Pocket Frogs

Pocket Frogs mobile app

Pocket Frogs is a fun pet frog farming game where you get to collect frogs of all species and colors! It's available for both iOS and Android.

I used to play this game when I had one of my first iPod touches, which was probably over 10 years ago. It was so fun to re-download and dive back into it. It's great to see how far it has come since then and how much I still enjoy the game years later!

Collect, discover and breed over 35,000 frogs in your own little pocket habitat on your phone! Take your frogs out to the pond to grow themselves and their happiness level by eating as many dragonflies as you can catch. And you might even find some presents with coins or habitat decor along the way! If you find another frog in the pond, you can choose to breed your frog with it and see what color and species variations you make back in your nursery habitat. The more frogs you breed, the more you'll fill up your Froggy-dex, which is like the Pokedex in Pokemon! Every new colored or patterned frog you add to your habitat is another frog checked off the list.

There are fun mini games to play to earn more coins and frog collection challenges to beat. You can also play with your friends and send and trade frogs back and forth to help complete your Froggy-dex!

Another great thing about this game is that you can play it on or offline! You don't need the internet to play, which makes it a perfect game to take in the car with you for long road trips.

My Mini Mobile Game Review

Coziness

Pocket frogs is a super cozy mobile game and I think it's even cozier when you play it on a tablet like I do on my iPad. There's just something about playing it on a big screen curled up on the couch!

Appearance

Considering I played this game over 10 years ago on an iPod touch, I think the graphics and appearance of this game are really great! I love how adorable all the frogs are and all of the beautiful patterns and colors you can collect. (Just wait until you collect your first Chroma frog!) The backgrounds and decor you can use to decorate each habitat are fun and have a great variety as well. It lets you be as creative as you want to be.

Playability

Pocket Frogs is a super easy and low energy game. The controls are very simple as well. This is a game you can put down and pick up at any point. There can be a waiting period during the game if you're waiting on frog eggs to hatch but, there's plenty more to do to keep you playing like exploring the pond or playing mini games.

Cost

This game is free to download with in-game purchases available. You can play this game without ever needing to make a purchase though. It even lets you watch ads for more coins and in-game items, if you're running low. What I do like about this game is that they never make you watch an ad unless you really want to. You can skip the ads if you're not feeling them that day but, the option is there if you want some more in-game perks.

Overall Feel

Overall I love Pocket Frogs and would give it a 5 out of 5 stars. This throw-back mobile game still has me playing over 10 years later and will always make it in my cozy gaming rotation. It's going to take me forever to fill out and collect all the frogs in my Froggy-dex and I love that. It'll keep me coming back to the game because I'm definitely a completionist when it comes to gaming!
