Here's part 3 of my Mini Mobile Game Reviews for your phone or iPad! This review is on Boba Story, a cozy restaurant management game!
Boba Story
Boba Story is an adorable cafe/restaurant management mobile game where you're running your own boba tea shop! It's available for both iOS and Android.
The story behind this cute cafe game is centered around Joji, a strawberry forest spirit (the cutie in the app icon picture), who needs your help restoring their boba tea shop. Create custom bubble tea drinks and upgrade and decorate your shop the further along you get into the game!
Unlock the magic den and start brewing potions to unlock new items to use in your boba tea drinks. Sell tasty food and snacks to your customers as well to collect another type of currency, star fragments, which you'll use when you unlock the bee hives in the garden. Use the collected honey to unlock more lids to decorate finish off your drinks and add that last creative touch to your cups.
This game can be played offline without wifi too!
My Mini Mobile Game Review
Coziness
This game makes me want to grab my own cup of tea and curl up with a blanket and play! I think slow-paced cafe management games like this are the perfect cozy game.
Appearance
The artwork in this game is super charming and whimsical. I love that you can chose how you want to decorate your cafe with multiple different themed cafe items. All of the themes are pretty cute and it made it super hard to decide on which one I wanted to theme my cafe to. I kind of mixed and matched themed items and just chose what cafe decor looked the cutest to me!
Playability
Boba Story is a very easy game to play. From customizing your own boba tea drinks to playing the cute little mini games, the controls are very simple but, in the best way. The challenging parts playing Boba Story are figuring out all of the recipe combinations for the boba pearl mix-ins, toppings, lids and more. Collecting all of the ingredients to mix together for each recipe is that hardest part of the game and it keeps you playing with anticipation of finally collecting a hard-to-get item!
Cost
Boba Story is free to play! There are a few opportunities in the game to watch ads to receive items and advantages to help you move forward in the game but, they're completely optional. I have not come across any in-game necessary purchases either.
Overall Feel
I give this mobile game a 5 out of 5 stars! This was one of the first games I played that pulled me back into gaming on my iPad. The recipe discovery and drink customization are my favorite parts of the game and kept me coming back to play every day.
